Women's and Maternal Health

The Women’s and Maternal Health program coordinates and promotes culturally appropriate screening and monitoring of women and girls during pregnancy in order to provide early detection of growth and developmental issues, ensuring effective interventions.

The program enables informed choice through health promotion information and educational resources, and assists in the provision of antenatal classes and early pregnancy presentations. The program also provides information on good nutrition and hygiene, as well as social well-being and family safety.

A key role of the program is the consultation with community-based stakeholders to identify specific community concerns to formulate ideas, advice and direction for improving women’s health and well-being.
