  • Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (SHSAC) is a long-standing primary health care provider established in 2003, covering a vast region comprising of 9 Indigenous communities within the Roper Gulf Region, east of the Stuart Highway, a population size of over 4,000 people.

     The organisation's roots are steeply based on the principles of Self Determination, making the decision to embrace an opportunity to further enhance the health and wellbeing of community members by becoming a Registered NDIS Provider (4050013325) with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

    The service is proud of the accomplishments and invaluable learning opportunities it has gained since developing the NDIS program.

  • The Sunrise Coordinator of Support (COS) is on offer across the Roper Region, where a Sunrise Health Service is present. The Sunrise COS is a very flexible and responsive service, often travelling regularly to communities, staying for long periods and when based in Katherine have access to modern technology to ease communication. The Sunrise COS works with NDIS participants to achieve their personal goals. They are committed to 'Choice and Control' of what service a participant wants involved in their care.

  • Remote Community Connector (RCC) is an all of community service on offer to people based in the Ngukurr Community. The role of the RCC is to assist individuals in understanding the NDIS, support in completion of NDIS applications, and attending meetings with individuals during NDIS/NDIA plans and review meetings. Our workers are based in Ngukurr and are responsive to all enquiries.

  • The Ngukurr Wellbeing Centre, is a person-centred environment for all NDIS participants, including individuals experiencing long-term psycho-social issues. It commenced operating under the NDIS model in 2019, and has continued to be a hub for many individuals, families and service providers, given its central location in Ngukurr and the long-term dedicated Ngukurr staff. The Ngukurr team offer an array of activities to meet the needs of each NDIS participant.

    The Ngukurr Wellbeing Centre is 100% Indigenous led. The centre's staff reflect the diverse clan groups of the surrounding traditional lands and languages.  The staff are committed to ensuring effective communications with participants, including striving to produce resources and better understanding of cultural context with visiting services providers.
